Day 3 started slow… Real slow… I was trying to figure out what went on last night. I remembered flashes of a dance-off between me and Grubb of Carrie Nation together with a strange girl climbing in a tree… It was all very fuzzy. But I had fun! It sucked that the Slim Cessna set didn’t really happen, but hey… what can we do…
By now you should know that I love Dylan as an artist and as a person. And I was really looking forward to what he would bring us this time. He opened his set with a Townes song and that takes balls. If you have been following his stories on facebook you know that the man was on a cloud from all the great encounters he had the last few days and you could tell by his big smile on stage. With his first album under his belt we can expect great things from this guy!
Thank you Cracker Swamp guys for yet another great discovery this year. I’m damn sure I have seen this band play on a street-corner somewhere in New Orleans when I was there on one of my visits to this amazing city a few years ago, and damn why didn’t I stayed longer and listened to what they did? Who will tell?
What I do know, is that I’m happy I did it at this years festival. And I wasn’t alone, this was a party from start to finish!
This Muddy Roots Records recording band is becoming a new household name in the modern “roots” scene and we all know why that is. People in Europe are waiting for these guys to come over and perform their beautiful music, let’s hope it will happen in 2016. For now, here’s a short video…
Dr. Ralph Stanley
What can I tell you about this man that hasn’t been said before and better? Nothing I guess? I have some thoughts about this whole thing, but nothing I want to make public here. I will discus it with you in private if you want. Watch the video and maybe you will see what I’m talking about. Everything aside, it was a privilege to be on stage with this legend and shoot this video.
Yeah sure… Find some new favorite bands at Muddy Roots they say… Hooray… I did… And now they stop playing? FUCK THIS SHIT! Hahaha… Oh well, I’ll always have this video. More punk then anything else Harley Poe set the tent on fire and took everybody in there on a spooky trip. Lordy, Lordy, did we have fun!!!
We’ve seen so much more great bands that we didn’t film, but we want you to check out. So here we go…
Denver Broncos UK, side project of Slim Cessna’s Auto Club members with Munly at the wheel.
Shawn James and the Shapeshifters, stoner metal roots music? These guys were brutal!
Cannibal Ramblers, dirty low fi blues brought to you by an evil Santa and his minions?
That band with the song “Fuck Cops”… Liz played with them… I have no idea who they were… I have the video… Help me out!!!!
